Severe obesity linked to longer labor and reduced vaginal delivery odds.
Understanding labor induction differences in obesity can improve delivery outcomes and maternal safety. Severe obesity led to longer labor (by 3.5 hours) and lower odds of vaginal delivery (adjusted odds ratio 0.6). Findings suggest the need for tailored induction protocols in severely obese individuals, despite it being a secondary analysis with limited generalizability. Severe obesity increases labor duration and decreases vaginal delivery odds with vaginal misoprostol.
