Perioperative chemoimmunotherapy improves survival in resectable gastric cancer
This strategy-stratified meta-analysis clarifies which immune checkpoint inhibitor combinations have mature survival evidence versus hypothesis-generating pathological-response data for pharmacists managing perioperative gastric and gastroesophageal junction regimens.
ICI plus chemotherapy boosts survival in gastric cancer treatment.
Pharmacists are involved in managing immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapies, important for optimizing cancer treatment regimens. ICI plus chemotherapy improved pathologic complete response (pCR) with a risk ratio (RR) of 3.01 and overall survival (OS) with a hazard ratio (HR) of 0.81. ICI+CT shows significant benefits in pCR and survival, but further studies are needed for other combinations and safety insights. ICI+CT is a promising strategy with better pCR and survival outcomes in gastric cancer.
