Exploring new lifesaving treatments for advanced nasopharyngeal cancer.
Recurrent or metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (R/M NPC) remains challenging to treat, and promising combination therapies could improve patient outcomes. PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors with anti-angiogenic drugs showed a 48% objective response rate and 83% disease control rate. Serious adverse events occurred in 47% of patients. These findings highlight a potentially effective combination therapy for R/M NPC, especially in immunotherapy-naive patients, but larger randomized trials are needed for confirmation. Combination therapy shows promise in R/M NPC but requires further study.
