Background Information

Cobenfy offers a novel way to treat schizophrenia with fewer side effects.

Cobenfy, combining xanomeline and trospium, offers a novel schizophrenia treatment minimizing common antipsychotic side effects. Cobenfy reduced PANSS scores significantly with a least squares mean difference of -9.6 and -8.4 in two trials. Major side effects include nausea and constipation. This new mechanism provides a valuable alternative for schizophrenia patients, especially those intolerant to dopamine antagonists. Long-term safety data are yet needed. Cobenfy effectively treats schizophrenia with fewer metabolic and extrapyramidal side effects than traditional antipsychotics.
