Migration challenges medication safety: a new support model offers solutions.
Migration increases population diversity, presenting challenges for safe medication use among foreign-born persons with language difficulties. The study identified seven areas for support, including language understanding and risk assessment, leading to a model involving interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The proposed model highlights the need for organizational changes and enhanced patient education to mitigate medication-related risks for migrants. Supporting safe medication use among migrants requires coordinated, interdisciplinary efforts across healthcare levels.
