Thyroid cancer treatment faces challenges like systemic toxicity and poor selectivity; Chitosan-based nanoparticles (ChNPs) offer targeted drug delivery as a potential solution. ChNPs demonstrated enhanced drug delivery and selectivity, reducing systemic toxicity and improving antitumor activity compared to traditional therapies. Current evidence indicates promise for ChNPs; however, issues with large-scale production and regulatory approval limit immediate clinical application. ChNPs show potential for targeted thyroid cancer treatment but require more research for clinical use.
