Background Information

Extended DAPT reduces ischemic events post-stent in multivessel CAD.

Extended dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) may improve outcomes for patients with multivessel coronary artery disease (CAD) post-stent implantation. Extended DAPT reduced ischemic events compared to aspirin alone without significantly increasing major bleeding in multivessel CAD patients. Provides evidence for prolonging DAPT in multivessel CAD post-stent. Limitation: specific to those who tolerated 12 months of initial therapy. Extended DAPT reduces ischemic events without increasing major bleeding after stent implantation in multivessel CAD.
